Folau launches legal action against Rugby Australia

From Morning Report, 8:28 am on 7 June 2019

Former Wallabies fullback Israel Folau has launched legal proceedings against Rugby Australia and the Waratahs for unlawfully terminating his contract.

His lawyers argue that it was illegal to sack Folau on the basis of his religion under the Fair Work Act.

Folau antagonised many when posted on social media that homosexuals who don't repent are destined for hell and refused to take down the post.

He is now seeking damages of up to $10 million in lost salary and commercial opportunities.
