The first real insight into the minds of the All Blacks selectors ahead of this year's Rugby World Cup was provided in Auckland last night.
Thirty-nine players - including four newcomers - have been chosen for the team's opening two matches of the abbreviated 2019 Rugby Championship.
That squad will be trimmed to 34 for the second half of the competition - before 31 are chosen to chase a third straight World Cup triumph.
