Abortion law reform: 'We're keen on continuity of care' - GP

On the proposed reform of abortion laws: Under the legislation women will have an automatic right to an abortion in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.

After 20 weeks, a health practitioner will have to assess whether an abortion is appropriate.

Samantha Murton is the president of the Royal New Zealand College of GPs.

She tells Corin Dann that doctors are waiting to see the detail of the legislation, but continuity of care is important to general practitioners.
