Auckland Transport accused of delaying fix for dangerous shared path

From Morning Report, 8:26 am on 8 August 2019

An Auckland school principal says it's only a matter of time before a child is seriously hurt as Auckland Transport drags its heels fixing a dangerous shared cycling-walking path.

Newton Central School had to suspend its walking school bus along the popular northwesten cycleway six months ago after several near misses, and abuse hurled at children by cyclists.

Auckland Transport says it has been making changes but the principal says that's not enough and there's no way he's letting the walking bus resume.

RNZ's Rowan Quinn took a visit to the shared path to see what's changed.
