A child and an adult with measles are in a critical condition in intensive care and health authorities says deaths are likely if the outbreak centred on Auckland is not contained.
As of yesterday, there were 991 confirmed cases of measles, 821 of them in Auckland.
That's an increase of nine cases from Tuesday in the city, but health authorities are a long way off saying the outbreak is under control. Matthew Theunissen reports.
