Hansen: Strong bench gives confidence
The All Blacks feel as well placed as they can be heading into tomorrow night's Rugby World Cup quarterfinal against Ireland. With all 31 squad members available, the New Zealand selectors yesterday named a largely predictable 23-man side for the match in Tokyo. Notable selection decisions did come in the midfield and at hooker, but coach Steve Hansen and the players are in an optimistic mood as they prepare for the crunch encounter. Ireland, though, are also confident, with two wins in their last three games against the All Blacks to back that up. Clay Wilson reports from the Japanese capital.
