Landlords across Aotearoa believe they're being unfairly punished by the government's planned changes to the Residential Tenancies Act.
The new rules include limiting rent rises to once every 12 months, banning landlords from rental bidding and increasing financial penalties.
Landlords would also have to explain why they want to evict tenants and give examples to justify it to the tenancy tribunal.
Andrew King, the executive officer of the Property Investors' Federation, which represents many landlords spoke with Kim Hill.
