Whakaari/White Island: Family wanted to use nets to find bodies

From Morning Report, 8:11 am on 18 December 2019

The family of a man missing following the Whakaari/White Island eruption say police red tape and bureaucracy has thwarted another attempt to try and find his body.

Tour guide Hayden Marshall-Inman died on the island, but his body, and that of 17-year-old Winona Langford, are believed to have been washed into the sea.

Hayden's brother, Mark Inman, says they went to the police with an idea on Monday morning to use nets to try to catch the bodies, but it took the police too long to act, and by then it was too late.
