Australian archive documents shine light on tumultuous history

A release of documents by the National Archives of Australia is shining light on a tumultuous period of Australian history.

Known as the Palace letters, they reveal what the Queen knew, and didn't know, about the dismissal of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam in 1975.

The removal was one of Australia's greatest political crises.
