Covid-19: NZ Immigration staff overseas still on full pay

Immigration staff at overseas offices closed during the pandemic lockdown have remained on full pay - at an estimated cost of $7 million.

Thousands of workers here struggled to work from home because of outdated technology, including decade old Windows 7 systems, and at times were forced to log on outside of office hours because the computers were overloaded.
