Northland councillor fears Kauri could become extinct on Crown land

A Northland councillor is predicting kauri will be extinct on Crown land in the next 30 years because the Government isn't doing enough to control kauri dieback across the upper North Island.

Jack Craw says the disease is spreading unchecked in Northland's native forests.

But local iwi strongly disagree with that assessment.
