The Film Commission says New Zealand's coronavirus response and border exemptions for overseas cast and crew have kickstarted what could be a record year ahead for the screen industry.
Avatar, Lord of the Rings, Cowboy Bebop and Sweet Tooth are in production, along with three New Zealand feature films - and another two international projects are in pre-production.
The Film Commission's chief executive Annabelle Sheehan told RNZ reporter Gill Bonnett that a major production happening in Wellington will soon be revealed.
