From Morning Report, 8:54 am on 9 October 2020

A dog which went missing during the Lake Ōhau fire has been reunited with its owners.

Milo, the five year-old kelpie and  rescue dog, disappeared during the early hours of Sunday morning, when the fire started near Lake Ōhau Village.

Her owner Norm Mackay lost his home and belongings during the fire, and says finding Milo again has brought some relief during what has been a tough week.

He spoke to our reporter Anan Zaki last night and says when Milo spotted him, she sprinted to him like Usain Bolt.

Mackay says is Milo is unharmed, but his two cats Dave and Molly, are still missing.
