Red Fox Tavern trial continues

From Morning Report, 8:38 am on 10 February 2021

Who shot the barman?

That's the key issue for the jury to decide in the trial of two men accused of murdering a Waikato publican more than 30 years ago.

Forty-three-year-old father-of-two Chris Bush was shot dead in October 1987, when two intruders burst into the Red Fox Tavern in Maramarua and cleaned out the safe of tens of thousands of dollars.

Mark Hoggart and a man whose name and suppressed are charged with murder and aggravated robbery, but both deny any involvement in the crime.

Reporter Sarah Robson is covering the case in the High Court in Auckland.
