The little boy who had us all crossing our fingers he'd be found safe is due to head home today with his mother, after spending the night in Gisborne Hospital for a check up.
Three-year-old Axle wandered off from his home near Tolaga Bay on Tuesday afternoon triggering a massive search which included hundreds of locals frantically scouring the countryside.
His parents feared the worst with his father telling RNZ yesterday it's a miracle the boy was found unharmed.
