A group of young Cook Islanders set off this week on a voyage they hope will revive a generations-old tradition that's become endangered.
They're visiting all 15 of the country's islands on a traditional vaka, using only the stars, the tides and the wisdom of two master navigators.
It's an effort to revive a skill that saw their ancestors travel across the Pacific.
Jamie Tahana paid them a visit as they prepared for the voyage.
