Shock storms and flooding in Auckland has blindsided emergency management, with about 50 evacuations.
There's been incidents right across Auckland and the North Shore, with the bulk being in West Auckland, and up to Kumeu.
Fire Emergency New Zealand say between 9.30 pm and 4 am, they received more than 150 calls for assistance. Most of the calls related to flooding into residential properties.
They were also called to help people stuck in vehicles.
Waitakare Ward councillor Shane Henderson said he woke up to texts at 2am about the storm.
