Two sailors who went missing in Kiribati waters have been found alive by crew on board a Royal New Zealand Airforce Orion following a two-day search of a vast area of ocean.
The two had been reported overdue from a trip to Maiana Island in Kiribati.
A rescue mission was launched in Kiribati, and the RNZAF crew left Auckland on Tuesday to join the search.
The two were found in a boat 230 nautical miles from Nauru on Wednesday.
