Auckland Council considering major cuts to car parks

From Morning Report, 7:35 am on 4 November 2021

Auckland Transport is suggesting hundreds of car parks in the city should be ripped out in favour of bus lanes and cycle ways.

It says parks could disappear on main arterial routes and in some parts of central Auckland. The supercity has agreed to cut emissions by 50 percent by 2030.

Auckland Council's planning committee is set to vote on the proposal today.
