The massive fire fighting operation in Northland has swung into action again this morning as crews try to contain the massive scrub fire that is threatening homes.
It's north of Kaitaia near the coastal village of Kaimaumau, where residents have been evacuated.
They've spent a second night out of their homes, either with family and friends or at a nearby evacuation centre at Waiharara school.
