Pressure is mounting on British Prime Minister Boris Johnson after the UK's Metropolitan Police announced it will investigate multiple events at Downing Street and across government - to see whether there were breaches of Covid-19 restrictions.
The commissioner of Britain's biggest force, Dame Cressida Dick, confirmed her officers are now looking into potential rule breaking as a result of information provided to them by civil servants.
She didn't specify which events are under investigation although it has been widely reported that an event on the Prime Minister's birthday in June, 2020, has come to light.
Johnson is said to have been given a cake.
