Covid-19: Police tell Parliament protestors to leave

From Morning Report, 8:25 am on 10 February 2022

Up to 50 police have deployed a short time ago at the scene of the protest encampment at parliament.

The Speaker has authorised the closure of the Parliamentary precinct, if the police deem it necessary to clear the lawn

RNZ reporter Hamish Cardwell said there says the large numbers of police emerged on the western side of the encampment.

They are telling protesters by loudhailer to remove their tents or be arrested

A line of protesters has gathered in front of the police who are wearing masks, and are standing impassively in a line.

A number of tents have remained pitched overnight on parliament grounds.
