Fears of an invasion have heightened further after Russia extended military drills in Belarus that were due to end overnight.
US secretary of State Antony Blinken said the move made him even more worried about an imminent invasion while US vice president Kamala Harris doubled down on the warning issued yesterday by president Joe Biden.
She told leaders at the Munich Security Conference that Europe was under "direct threat" and urged unified support for penalties if the Kremlin invades its neighbour.
