Senior doctors say Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield is wrong if he believes hospitals are coping and there is no crisis in the sector.
Dr Bloomfield has downplayed concern about rising hospitalisations because of Covid-19, saying these tend to peak after case numbers peak, and Auckland-wide cases are coming down.
Association of Salaried Medical Specialists executive director Sarah Dalton says hospitals are seriously stretched.
