Ukraine war could strain New Zealand-China trade relationship

Experts say it is unlikely China will join in the Russian invasion of Ukraine - but any involvement by Beijing could have catastrophic economic consequences.

New Zealand's new Russia sanctions law allows it to penalise countries actively supporting the invasion.

Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson said the Government has not yet had to consider whether to sanction China, New Zealand's largest trading partner.
