NZ police kill at higher rate than in England, Wales

New Zealand police kill at 11 times the rate of police in England and Wales.

Licence to Kill, an RNZ investigative series on police shootings launched today, shows New Zealand police have killed 39 people since 1990.

A prominent firearms lawyer says poor police training and culture are to blame but the Police Commissioner points to New Zealand's social problems and access to guns.
