The former Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters has accused the Government of neglecting the Pacific region - and says his successor should have visited sooner.
The New Zealand First leader's comments follow revelations Solomon Islands is negotiating a security deal with China - potentially allowing Beijing to station military forces on the archipelago.
