The government contends that two new reports reveal progress is being made to lift children from poverty.
The reports are the first statutory Annual Report for the Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy and the third Child Poverty Related Indicators Report.
Among improvements cited are that fewer families are running out of food and that there's been a 10 percent reduction in youth offending.
