The tourism industry wants the extension of a popular working holiday visa to kick in earlier to help with staff shortages.
The Youth Mobility Scheme will now allow people aged between 18 and 35 to live and work in the United Kingdom, and vice versa.
It's a five year increase to the age limit, and the maximum stay will be increased from two to three years.
The changes are due to be introduced no later than 2024, but Tourism Industry Aotearoa is hopeful that will be sooner rather than later.
