Rain, gales, snow forecast in Canterbury

A fast-moving front of wild weather has hit the country overnight, with rain, wind and even snow expected throughout the day. In Canterbury, heavy rain, severe gales and snow down to 300 metres are forecast. The region's Civil Defence Emergency Management group controller James Thompson spoke to Susie Ferguson.
