Seven rugby league players, including three New Zealanders, will sit out Manly's NRL match against the Sydney Roosters this weekend, because Manly will wear a special rainbow jersey in support of LGBTQIA+ communities.
The players say the jersey is in conflict with their cultural and religious beliefs.
Manly's coach, Des Hasler, has apologised to the boycotting players, admitting they weren't consulted and he's concerned for their welfare.
Former Warriors chairman, Peter Macky, who is gay, says this is a sad outcome when Manly's jersey is simply celebrating inclusivity.
He spoke to Corin Dann.
