English women's football team wins Euro 2022

From Morning Report, 6:51 am on 1 August 2022

The English women's football team beat Germany 2-1 late in extra time in the Euro 2022 final at Wembley on Monday morning.

It's England's first major football tournament victory since 1966, when the men's side won the World Cup.

The whole country got in behind the Lionesses during the tournament, with the 87,000-strong sell-out crowd at Wembley the largest ever at a men's or women's European football final.

The BBC's Henry Moeran has been watching the final.

He spoke to Corin Dann.
