There are mixed reactions to the Government's promise it will be fast-tracking the recruitment of internationally trained medical practitioners into the country.
Some doctors are being put off by the drawn out process they must go through with the Medical Council before they can see patients.
Some say more could be done within New Zealand, wanting medical school students to be given more hands on work experience in medical centres to encourage them to take up general practice.
