The National Party is starting the new week with a new party president. Sylvia Wood, an employment relations specialist, was elected to the position yesterday at the annual conference in Christchurch.
She replaces Peter Goodfellow, who has stepped down after 13 years in the role.
Already she's talking about using her position to deliver "an absolute obsessive focus on the party vote" at next year's general election.
