There's widespread doubt likelihood draft legislation to lower the voting age to 16 will pass.
MPs will get to vote on whether 16-year-olds can go to the ballot box, but both National and Act have indicated they oppose the move.
Any change would require the backing of three-quarters of Parliament or a majority vote in a referendum, and won't take effect for the 2023 election.
