Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand is moving to fast track pay equity for nurses.
It says nurses shouldn't have to wait for a pay rise while unions take legal action over back pay.
It is asking the Employment Relations Authority for interim orders to fix pay equity rates that would give most nurses a pay boost of more than 14 percent.
