Water Safety hearing more about risky kaimoana gathering

The rising cost of living appears to be having dangerous consesquences for some New Zealanders. Water Safety New Zealand says it's hearing more and more stories of people fishing and diving for kaimoana in poor conditions, just so they can feed their whanau. Drowning deaths are up on this time last year - which reached a ten-year high - and it's warning people not to take risks. Lauren Crimp reports.
