Federated Farmers still opposed to agriculture pricing scheme

From Morning Report, 8:09 am on 22 December 2022

Federated Farmers remains opposed to the government's Agricultural Emissions Reduction scheme, despite changes in its favour.

Following significant backlash from the sector, the government is setting the lowest possible levy price, and is increasing the amount of trees that can be counted in offsetting emissions.

Federated Farmers says the policy is still too vague, and it won't agree to any pricing scheme until a review of the methane targets is undertaken.

The group's president Andrew Hoggard spoke to Charlotte Cook.
