A man who uses a wheelchair has joined the list of travellers inconvenienced by a surge in lost luggage.
Chris Ford says the detachable backrest of his wheelchair was lost on a flight from Sydney to Christchurch on Wednesday.
Air New Zealand hasn't managed to find it, and he's discovered his travel insurance won't cover it either.
RNZ has approached Air New Zealand for comment, but the airline has not responded.
