A team of NIWA scientists will board the research vessel Tangaroa today for a six-week voyage to Antarctica.
Their mission is to better understand the ecosystem and ocean physics in the Ross Sea, as well as assess the impacts of climate change.
Lauren Crimp spoke with some of the team getting ready for the adventure.
