Shockwaves over Iran's execution of the dual Iranian-UK national, Alireza Akbari, continue to be felt.
The Islamic Republic's government confirmed at the weekend the sixty-one-year-old former deputy defence minister had been hanged, after being accused of being a British spy.
Mr Akbari's initial confession has widely been dismissed, including by the late minister's nephew.
Britain immediately responded by withdrawing its envoy to Tehran.
Negar Partow, an Iranian-born international security expert from Massey University, spoke to Jimmy Ellingham.
