A 10-person crew has built a bridge in just six days to reconnect 200-cut off residents in Auckland's north-west after the floods.
Mill Flat Road Bridge in Riverhead was swept away on 27 January and residents had been using a 30-minute forestry road detour in the meantime.
The new, temporary Bailey Bridge was sent up from Hawkes Bay and is a better fit than the old one.
