An emotional Black Caps cricketer Blair Tickner has described the devastation at his parent's home just south of Napier.
Tickner made his test debut in New Zealand's loss to England in Mt Maunganui last week but he admited his thoughts during much of the game were with family and friends.
Ahead of the second Test starting in Wellington tomorrow, he returned home to help his father, whose house in Awatoto south of Napier has been effectively destroyed by flooding.
