Federated Farmers are praising the Government's Severe Weather Emergency Legislation Bill, which aims to speed up the recovery from Cyclone Gabrielle.
The Bill will remove red tape by letting rural landowners in affected regions carry out emergency work without having to apply for resource consent.
Federated Farmers President Andrew Hoggard says it means farmers can direct their time and resources to getting production going again, rather than fretting about consents and delays.
