GPs sound alarm over burnout, age of profession
If every specialist GP that's aged 65 or over retired immediately, about 725,000 New Zealanders would be without the medical help they need. That's the stark warning from the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, following the release of new workforce survey findings. Seventy-nine percent of the survey's participants reported some level of burnout, and the college is asking for urgent Government support.
