Bus drivers throughout the country are getting a pay boost, with three regional councils approving increases this week.
Drivers in Wellington, Christchurch, and Otago - encompassing Dunedin and Queenstown - will all jump to an hourly rate of $30 an hour, with the hope it will attract staff to fill ongoing shortages.
The Government is pitching in for the increases as part of a $61 million investment into public transport staff retention.
