A dramatic threat to the Kremlin was abruptly called off yesterday, following the biggest challenge to President Vladimir Putin's authority in two decades.
The head of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin led a takeover of a key Russian military city and was only a few hundred kilometres from Moscow when the rebellion was suddenly abandoned.
