Just when people thought mortgage rates were on the way down, ASB and Kiwibank have hiked up their home loan rates.
With its 1-year fixed-term rate up 20 basis points to 7.25 percent, ASB now has the highest 1 year rate from a main bank since 2008.
And Kiwibank has followed suit, lifting their 6-month, 2-year and 5-year rates by as much as 30 basis points.
