More poor weather is on the way over the coming days.
MetService has issued orange heavy rain warnings for Coromandel Peninsula (11pm Thursday until 8pm Friday) and Tairawhiti (6am Friday until 6am Saturday).
There are also heavy rain and strong wind watches for most of the top half of the North Island.
