Doctors in Auckland are warning people could get seriously hurt or killed if security isn't improved.
In a letter to their bosses, Emergency Department doctors at North Shore and Waitakere Hospital have pleaded for a dedicated security guard.
Their union says on a single day earlier this year a doctor was punched, a patient in wheelchair was punched, and police brought in a man in a spit hood.
